Yay! Another new Shiloh Walker book arrived at my door and I immediately sat down to read it... ASAP.
The Missing is one of those stories that won't let you go and while a respectable 312 pages, I devoured it. But then I tend to do that with any of Ms. Walker's books.
She is a phenomenal story-teller with a flair for description that takes you right into the action. And the action is stunning!
Different from her Hunters books, yet still dealing with strong female and male characters learning to survive ~ and thrive ~ despite having to deal with pasts that have scarred and a present that is out of control.
As with her other stories ~ long or short; paranormal or contemporary ~ there is a very strong emotional component that does more than simply tug on your heartstrings ~ it's a full-out capture!
Then there is the romance: Whew! We're talking extremely sexy, HOT and, at the same time, very touching.
The way I see it, Shiloh Walker writes with magic and we benefit each and every time.
I don't very often pre-order books, but there are authors who top my favourites and auto-buy lists for whom I'll do this: Case in point is Shiloh Walker's THE MISSING.
If we, Shiloh Walker's fans, are lucky this could just be the beginning of another of her series.
I became a fan of Shi's stories back in January of 2007 when I found her book Hunting the Hunted. It had elements with which I was intrigued, I'd seen her name on J.R. Ward's message board and I had a gift card.... Forgone conclusion? Maybe.
But the story really made an impact on me. I was immediately more than a little interested in Ms. Walker's Hunters, even with this first rather indirect introduction to this world.
So without much prompting I immediately began looking around for more of her work. This eventually segued into looking for her ebooks ~ of which I have a LOT ~ and then I began getting the print versions of these same ebooks. Addicted much? *grin*
If you've not read anything by Shiloh Walker, I highly recommend that you find yourself any of her books, sit down for a nice quiet read, and find just why Ms. Walker is one of my favourites!
